Wheeling Police are investigating a fraudulent scheme.

According to a police report, someone is fabricating checks with an actual account number.

Police say the account number is probably stolen and then documents were created with the number, including checks.

On Thursday, officials say a check was cashed at the Bridge Tavern for over $700.
