Ritchie Elementary School hosted some musical guest on Wednesday.
The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra percussionists visited Ritchie for a performance.Wheeling Symphony members Eliseo Rael, David Reineeke, Michael Culligan and Browyn Wyatt played music for the students, answered questions and even allowed students to play the instruments with them.
Ritchie Elementary School Principal John Jorden said his students are fortunate to have had the opportunity to interact with the symphony members and watch them perform.
“When children have the opportunity to see such talented musicians in a live setting, it inspires them,” Jorden said. “Ritchie students have the opportunity to learn music and play instruments, and having Wheeling Symphony members visit our school shows the children what they can achieve if they choose to pursue music. We are so thankful for the percussionists of the Wheeling Symphony for giving us this experience.”
