Wheeling Woman Faces Charges After Police Find Her Slumped Over Steering Wheel

A Wheeling woman was arrested after police found her slumped over her wheel on Interstate 70, Wednesday evening.

Officers with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department received a call just after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday about a white vehicle coming into West Virginia from Pennsylvania on I-70 westbound. The caller alerted police that the car was swerving and said there was also a dog in the car.

Police waited along I-70, but the car never came. Another call came into the station around 6:15 p.m. that a white vehicle was pulled off to the side of the road near Mile Marker 10 with a dog on the roof.

When police arrived they found a dog dead in the passing lane and the driver of the vehicle was slumped over the wheel.

Authorities say, the driver, 33-year-old Jennifer Laudermilt of Wheeling failed several sobriety tests. She was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs.
