Dental hygiene students from one local university helped a group of special needs students get used to the thought of going to the dentist.
Special needs students from John Marshall and Cameron High School visited the West Liberty University campus Wednesday to get their teeth cleaned by dental students.
Work Study Coordinator Reva Yost said this was a helpful day for everyone involved.
“Not only does it help our students get more familiar with the dental part of you know normal day society, it also helps the dental students here understand and identify and be familiar with autistic kids,” Yost said.
The students from Marshall County made another trip on the hilltop to get their teeth cleaned on December 5, but organizers said this group was a lot bigger.
