Woodsdale Elementary Helps Collect Items for Troops Overseas

A local school has been doing it’s part to help out the troops overseas.

Student Council members at Woodsdale Elementary School started a project to gather donations for Boatsie’s Boxes.

The local group collected various items to be sent to the troops. They were able to collect ten large boxes from all over the Woodsdale area.

Boatsie’s Boxes founder Gail Van Varken said she is thrilled with their efforts.

“It brings them closer. It’s more meaningful toward them. Makes them realize what the soldiers do for them,” Van Varken said.

The students will also be sending over 400 hand written notes to the soldiers to let them know they are not forgotten
