West Virginia State Senator Bill Cole made a stop in Wheeling on Thursday.
State Senator Cole opened his meeting by saying how impressed he is by the progress in the Northern Panhandle, especially in Wheeling.
Cole met with local business leaders and the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce to talk jobs.
The luncheon style meeting allowed local people to ask Cole how he will bring those jobs specifically to our area.
Chamber president Erikka Storch says she was impressed by Cole’s stance on running the government like a business.
“Really there is a lot of positive, there’s so many wonderful things going on in downtown, you know you see cranes downtown now you see a variety of different things where there’s a lot of positives. And it’s great that someone especially someone in government leadership comes in and sees the positives of our area,” said Storch.
Cole added that he thinks state government is too focused on Charleston–and he thinks we need to take more ideas from across the state.
