WVDOH worker pinned by rock while clearing a rock slide

AMMA, W. Va. – A West Virginia Department of Highways worker has been flown to Charleston Area Medical Center after becoming pinned under a rock.

On Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, a WVDOH worker was using an excavator to clear a rock slide near the junction of County Route 23/6 and Amma Road. The crews were clearing the slide as a result last month’s flooding.

Upon the worker’s exit from the excavator, a rock fell and he became pinned.

Emergency crews responded and the WVDOH worker was flown to CAMC.

The individual’s condition is unknown at this time.
