The West Virginia Mountaineer Men’s Basketball team will kick off their season in Wheeling.
Coach Huggins and the team will play their first game, the Blue and Gold Debut, next Thursday October 13, at Wesbanco Arena.
To make the event fun for the whole family and tie in the Halloween season, Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration is hosting a trick or treat tailgate before the game.
Kids can come dressed in their costumes for the safe trick or treating event and families will also enjoy music, a bounce house and more.
Josh Contraguerro from Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration says the event will be an unforgettable experience!
“It bleeds blue and gold up through here, and it’s great to see that the kids and the families are going to get to see first hand the Mountaineers in person. Not many people around here make the trip especially through winter and with work schedules and stuff,” said Contraguerro.
“And the other thing is that after the scrimmage the players will be around the court, meeting the young folks signing autographs, you’ll get to know them up and close, up close and personal and that’s not something you really get to do throughout the season,” said Denny Magruder, General Manager of WesBanco arena.
The entire event is free.
The trick or treat tailgate starts at 5:00 p.m. between the Arena and the parking garage. Gates open at 6:00 p.m., and the game tips off at 7:00 p.m..
