The most notable WVU vs. Kentucky game that Mountaineer fans vividly remember is the 2010 Elite Eight win. Da’Sean Butler, Joe Mazzulla, and the rest of the Mountaineer team ended the Wildcats season after a 73-66 victory to advance to the 2010 Final Four in Indianapolis.
The following season, WVU and Kentucky met in the NCAA East regional third round game in Tampa where the Wildcats got revenge on the Mountaineers and coasted to a 71-63 victory.
As the Wildcats are enjoying a perfect 36-0 season, the Mountaineers will have a chance to make history Thursday night. Tip-off time is set at approximately 9:45 p.m. on WTRF CBS. The Mountaineers and the Wildcats will suit up against one another for the first time since 2011.
