The Bridgeport Bulldogs and Marshall County Panthers youth football and cheering programs faced off on Sunday afternoon in a “Super Bowl” championship game.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the game was a “Pink Out,” and the teams sold breast cancer awareness t-shirts to benefit the Schiffler Cancer Center at Wheeling Hospital.
“First of all, we’re tickled to death to be playing the championship game, and secondly, we’re happy to be playing again for cancer awareness,” said Marshall County Panthers Head Coach Eugene Saunders.
“This is the very first year we’ve ever done this, so hopefully it will become a yearly event,” Bridgeport Youth Football and Cheering President Jon Fitch added.
The teams were able to raise more than $1,000.
