Students at Barnesville High School are saving lives yet again.
On Friday the school held their 35th annual Blood Bash.
Organizers said more than 500 people turned out for the event that aims at collecting blood to benefit the Central Blood Bank.
Officials with the blood bank said the event is held at a time when they desperately need blood.
Marketing Lead at the Central Blood Bank, Kristen Lane said, “Summertime is a time where we really need blood. Hospitals are always in great need of blood, it is an ongoing need. A lot of people think that you only need blood during things like school shootings or acts of terrorism or accidents, things like that, the need for blood is always.”
This event is entirely student run.
In fact each student is responsible for finding at least 2 donors.
