The Ohio-Marshall County Pharmacist Association’s 44th Annual Spring Continuing Education Seminar was held Sunday at Wilson Lodge.
The event has over 175 pharmacists in attendance from the tri-state area, and continues to be an exciting opportunity for pharmacist to network and engage other colleagues from across the profession.
There will be speakers from local, state, and national positions to enhance the knowledge of the continuing pharmacist, that will directly impact the pharmacy care and quality of the patients in the Ohio Valley.
“When you think about all the people you go to get healthcare coverage, you have to have an appointment or go in and wait. The pharmacist you can go right up to. The public is recognizing this more and pharmacists are accepting this role,” said Don Orlando, RPh, and spokesman for the Ohio-Marshall County Pharmacist’s Asscoation.
A part of the event’s proceeds are dedicated to the OMCPA Scholarship, that is awarded annually to a deserving pharmacy student demonstrating financial need and academic achievement at the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.
The program provides six continuing education credits for pharmacists, coordinated by the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Office of Continuing Education.
