4th of July celebrated in Wheeling with Symphony performance, fireworks

4th of July festivities at Wheeling’s Heritage Port wrapped up with an annual concert from the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra.

As part of its annual Celebrate America Tour, the symphony performed patriotic favorites like “America the Beautiful” and “The Stars and Strips Forever” for the crowd.

The program also featured Grammy Award Winning Wheeling natives Tim and Mollie O’Brien as guest artists. Tim O’Brien performed with Jan Fabricius and Molly O’Brien performed with her husband guitarist Rich Moore.

Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Bruce Wheeler said the crowd was also introduced to guest Conductor Roger Kalia, who is also one of the candidates for the symphony’s Music Director.

The Celebrate America Tour also made stops in Weirton, Davis and Clarksburg earlier in the week leading up to the 4th of July holiday.
