Back Street Cat Rescue is hosting their biggest fundraiser of the year: a dinner-dance at Generation’s in Wheeling, on Saturday, April 7th.
The doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 p.m..
The organization takes in hundreds of cats per year, gives them any medical care they need, and adopts them out locally.
Back Street Cat Rescue is a no-kill operation, and the cats are housed in foster homes.
The dinner-dance helps them raise the money they need to care for the cats for the year.
The average cost of care is $168 per cat, and that is without any additional medical care.
“This is now the beginning of kitten season, so that’s when we’re going to take in the most cats that we take in during the year. We really need this to be a success to be able to take in the numbers that we usually do. We average about 400 cats every year, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on what the situation is,” said Executive Director Ashley Blinco.
The dinner-dance is coming up on April 7, 2018.
You can buy tickets in advance at Generation’s in Wheeling or by calling 740-238-8525.
Tickets are $30 a piece or $50 per couple.
Back Street Cat Rescue has adoption days each Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus.
