The Belmont County Commissioners brought back vital information with them from their Shell plant trip in Monaca.
This is information they could use if Belmont County were to get an ethane cracker plant.
This is the second time the County Commissioners went to visit the plant in Beaver County.
They got to take a one hour visual tour of the construction site where they got to ask a lot of questions.
Some of the questions they asked were what was the state of the transportation network, how much more traffic is there, what is the state of your housing over all in Beaver County, and many others.
“So those are really the things, the socioeconomic things, that we want to understand what’s happening there because they will be the same things that happen here in the Ohio Valley and that’s important for us,” said Belmont County Commissioner Mark Thomas. “The more we can educate our selves, the better that we can help, not only the perspective business but our residents and that’s I think the most important things we have gotten from this trip.”
The commissioners are planning another trip after the winter season in 2019.
