Belmont County Firefighters and EMT’s honored at awards dinner

Firefighters and EMT’s in Belmont County were honored this evening at the fire service dinner in St. Clairsville.

Multiple people were recognized for their dedication and hard work to keep the people of Belmont County safe.

They include David Anderson, who won the Firefighter of the Year Award, and Mary Anne Stephens, who won EMT of the year award.

Both say they are honored to accept.

“I really appreciate the award, I am very honored to have received it and I think the Belmont County fire and squad officers for presenting it to me this evening,” Anderson said.

“My dad was an EMT for 20 years, he has since passed on, and I kind of followed in his footsteps and again I am very humbled and very proud to receive this award,” Stephens said.

Retired Columbus Fire Greg Lash, a native of the Ohio Valley, was also in attendance tonight.

He says he learned his work ethic and sense of service to others growing up in Colerain, and that Belmont County is lucky to have such outstanding fire departments and EMT’s.
