It was just about ten days ago when a semi-truck carrying more than 70 tons of plastic coloring material flipped over near the bottom of Route 88.
The truck hit a utility pole and gas meter, causing the road to be closed for several hours. Fortunately, no one was injured in the crash. However, the truck clipped the Bethany Pike Car Wash, causing the business to shut down while repairs were made.
The good news today is that the car wash is once again open for business, just in time for Christmas.
“We had the power company, the gas company come,” said Bob Heldreth, the marketing manager of Bethany Pike Car Wash. “They did a great job of getting us connected. It was an emergency re-connect. We did a few things on the ground, just to clean things up and we are back open. We really want to be open for Christmas so your not taking a dirty car…”
Bethany Pike is a touchless car wash. Heldreth says you can take advantage of the dry weather and drive through any time.
