Bridgeport Police Chief John Bumba confirms his department is searching for two men who held four people hostage in their apartment on Lee Street on Monday.
The chief says the four victims were held at gunpoint, and that one of their captors fired a gun once, with the bullet going into a downstairs apartment, but not injuring anyone.
He says one of the hostages was assaulted by one of their captors, but did not require medical treatment.
That hostage managed to get away and flag down a police officer for help.
The two suspects got away on foot, after taking what the chief calls “a minimal amount of cash” and two game consoles.
He says they’re not releasing any names, or the exact address on Lee Street where it happened.
He says his officers have leads and are investigating.
