It doesn’t matter if you prefer cheddar, Swiss, or provolone.
If you love cheese, today is your day!
Today is National Cheese Day. A day where cheese lovers can celebrate all varities.
But you don’t have to go to Wisconsin to find true cheese experts, we have some right here in the Ohio Valley.
No matter what your favorite type of cheese is, the Hedinger family has you covered.
The family owns Valley Cheese in Centre Market. It’s been their family business for the past three generations.
“We have a port-wine Cheddar. It’s actually a pink cheese. We have a green cheese. It’s called a Sage Derby. It has a sage flavor to it. We have limburger. We have a German brick. They are both pretty stinky. We have a halloumi cheese. It’s a Greek cheese that you can actually put on a grill and put grill marks on it and it won’t melt. We do have a little range of everything,” said Janey Richardson, owner of Valley Cheese.
They also have a wide assortment of cheese trays as well as a deli.
They also specialize in Amish products such as jams and jellies and lunch meat.
Their hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
