Drug overdose deaths continue to plague the Mountain State, that’s why the Community IMPACT Coalition brought in a public health speaker to bring more awareness to the issue.
The group met at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church Thursday night to host the presentation on substance abuse. According to the speaker, Timothy Priddy, what we’re doing here in Ohio County to combat the issue is actually helping with the problem compared to other parts of the state, “We work in prevention so we’re trying to work with youth, and the community, to try to make this a place where kids don’t feel they have to use substances.”
If you’d like to work with the Community Impact Coalition they have their quarterly meeting on January 10th at 12:30 at Christ United Methodist Church. Project Coordinator Martha Polinsky says all are welcome.
