Dozens of people coming together Thursday evening on Wheeling to show their support for two families struck with tragedy.
Friends and family gathering together at Madison Elementary School for a candlelight vigil in honor of Jodeci Bush and Kayla Mills who were found dead at their Wheeling Island apartment on Tuesday.
The group took part in prayers, a balloon launch, lighting candles, and also celebrating the lives of these two women.
“I lost my daughter two days ago and this is so uplifting for me because it keeps me from going back up in the crib and just doing nothing but crying,” said father of Jodeci Bush, Russell Gilliam.
Cousin of Bush, Chelcee Lee said, “It’s one thing for family to come, but it’s another thing for people who aren’t family to just support us, so it’s everything to us, honestly.”
Dozens of people from both families were there to participate in the vigil.
The investigation into what exactly caused the death of the two women remains under investigation.
