Police are warning residents to be careful who you let into your home — no matter who a person says they are.
Police say a Moundsville woman received a knock on her door from two Hispanic men claiming to be from the water department. They stated that they needed to check something related to her water, so she invited them into her home.
They reportedly asked her to turn on her water, at which point one of the men began asking for personal information. The woman became suspicious and told the men to leave.
After they left, the woman went over to a neighbor’s home and called the water department, who stated they don’t have any such men under their employ.
The two men were driving a maroon Dodge minivan with gold accents, and police are on the lookout for the suspects.
