Festival of India returns to Wheeling for the weekend

The event will be held on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

WHEELING, W.Va (WTRF) - A 50-year old celebration that originally started in San Francisco has recently made its way to the Ohio Valley. 

For the third straight year, the Festival of India will return to Wheeling this weekend. 

Hosted by the ISKCON New Vrindaban community, the main purpose is to bring together all walks of life. 

There will be opportunities to learn about Indian culture through presentations, and entertainment for all ages. 

The festival is highlighted by a parade, followed by a vegetarian dinner.

"We invite you to come with your friends and family. Please come and experience the joy of India. I promise you will have an unforgettable expereince that you will remember for a very long time," said Vrindavan Das, INV Communications Director. 

The festival will be held on Saturday at Heritage Port from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
