Festival shares Indian Culture with the community at Heritage Port

Festival of India returned for its third year on Saturday at Wheeling’s Heritage Port.

People had the opportunity to learn about Indian culture through entertainment and presentations for all ages.

There were about ten vendors, food tents, kids crafts, and many more activities.

Sukhavaha Desi has been a part of the movement for 44 years and welcomes everyone to come out and get a little taste of a new culture.

“We have a lot of other special events,” she said. “We have a yoga tent. We have a meditation. We have a stage out here where people are singing. It’s just a wonderful event to come and see the Lord and meet a whole new culture.”

On Sunday July 22nd from 12 to 6 p.m. there will be an open house at the Village of New Vrindaban, which is celebrating 50 years in the Ohio Valley.

It’s located at 3759 McCrearys Ridge Road in Moundsville.
