A local filmmaker is holding a fundraiser as he gears up to shoot his next movie.
Shawn Holmes is the man behind the cult-hit film Memory Lane which received more than 23,000 views in less than 48 hours.
That movie was shot in a garage in Martins Ferry with a budget less than $300,000 dollars.
It was also available On-Demand in over 300 million homes in North America on various cable providers.
This time, Holmes said they have a chance to do something a lot bigger.
Filmmaker, Shawn Holmes said, “The film we’re making this time around is called the knife salesman. It’s a psychological thriller about an FBI profiler with a rare disorder that doesn’t allow him to have a personality. So in order to interact with people he sort of has to absorb and mimic the personalities around him. And he inadvertently absorbs the personality of the serial killer he is hunting, becoming the only person who can hunt him and can stop him.”
The steak fry fundraiser is this Saturday, April 21st at Wheeling Park’s Sonneborn Shelter.
It’s from 6 to 11 p.m.
Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple.
It includes both your steak dinner and beer.
You will also get entry for door prizes as well.
Tickets can be purchased at Cloud 9 Salon and Spa in Martins Ferry or by visiting ShawnTheDirector.com.
