The Ohio Means Jobs Annual Ohio Valley Job Fair is Wednesday afternoon at the Ohio Valley Mall.
They have 140 employers lined up–that’s more than ever–looking for new employees.
They’re from fields including health care, food service, retail, warehousing, banking and finance, manufacturing, social services and gas and oil drilling.
They offer some tips for job seekers.
“We ask job seekers to be prepared to come and talk with employers,” said Mike Schlanz, Workforce administrator. “Bring your resume with you. Know all your employment dates, education and so forth, to fill out applications. And job seekers should dress business casual. Dress appropriately.”
Some of the employers are from out of the area
There’s a manufacturing firm from Marietta and a school system from North Carolina.
And 30 of the employers are from the gas and oil drilling industry.
The job fair is tomorrow (April 4) from noon to 4 p.m., inside the Ohio Valley Mall, and it will stretch almost the entire length of the main corridor, from Boscov’s to Macy’s.
