Balloons, cake, plenty of guests. It may have looked like a regular birthday party, but it was extra special.
Emerald Pointe Health & Rehabilitation celebrated their four “Ladies of the Century”. Each of them is turning more than 100-years-old.
The birthday girls were Annie Davis who is 101, Eva Jackson who is 105, Genevieve Armstrong who is also 101 and Helen Wallace who turns 102.
“They’re very excited,” said Emerald Pointe Administrator Aubrey Moore. “We had all the ladies, they were down in our beauty shop. They got their hair done. We got them t-shirts. Our staff here have really put in the the extra effort and they’ve gone above and beyond to make this just such a special day for each and every one of these residents.”
The party was open to the entire community.
Staff at Emerald Pointe said they were happy to recognize these four ladies.
“It’s a great opportunity to give our ladies that recognition,” added Moore. “We’re so happy to be able to have our center here and provide our great services to these ladies. What a great accomplishment they’ve made.”
Happy Birthday to these “Ladies of the Century” from all of us her at 7News!
