More than 50 businesses from across the Ohio Valley looking for qualified job seekers participated in Tuesday’s WTRF Ohio Valley Job and Career Fair.
Two sessions spanned the day at the Highlands Events Center
Organizers said the day was a success, with hundreds of people coming in throughout the afternoon.
Both they and job seekers explained this event helps in so many ways.
“In our hiring process we usually do it online sort of like a staffing service, said Penny Weatherson, Administrative Assistant for Stazenski Law Firm. “This gave us a direct opportunity to have an interaction with the applicant. That helps us answer questions on the spot.”
“Most place hire through online and you may get overlooked, but here you do it in person and actually get to talk to them and get a feel for their goals, added job seeker Jeff Harvath.
The fair is now over, but you can stay with 7News and WTRF.com for updates on any upcoming career fairs.
