Powder paint of various colors was flying through the air as more than 700 runners and walkers participated in the fifth Color Me Au-Some 5K Saturday morning.
The run and walk began at the Wheeling Waterfront, went south to 20th Street, up to 10th Street, across the Suspension Bridge, around Wheeling Island, back over the Suspension Bridge and back to the Waterfront.
There were paint stations throughout the course.
Awards were given to age group winners and the top five females and males.
It all benefits the Augusta Levy Learning Center.
“There are six stations. It’s a family fun event. You can bring the strollers, you can bring the kids, you can bring the dogs, and I think people just enjoy coming out for a good cause,” said Stacie Stephen, Director of Development at the Augusta Levy Learning Center.
The Color Me Au-Some 5K raises about $30,000 for the Augusta Levy Learning Center each year.
The center provides services to local children with autism.
