Officials in Brooke County responded to a five car pile-up Wednesday morning.

According to Sheriff Larry Palmer, the accident involved five vehicles on Northview Road between Reeves Drive and Jamison Lane, including a Brooke County Sheriff’s car.

Sheriff Palmer said that the first car was going west around a turn and lost control, going left of center, striking the deputy’s car.

The other cars reportedly came around the turn to meet the accident and struck the deputy’s car. Those two cars sustained minor damage.

The last vehicle reportedly drove into the wooded area to avoid striking the deputy’s car.

Officials believe that the icy road conditions contributed to the accident.

No injuries were reported.
