It’s that time of year when people are busy with spring cleaning.
But now, experts say cleaning should involve more than just the house and yard.
It should also include digital cleaning.
In recent months, there has been an alarming number of data breaches.
Chad Crum is the owner of Computer Technology Solutions. He says that it’s now more important than ever to take necessary steps to clean up digital footprints and secure devices.
He says you should change your password every three to six months and never use the same password for social media and banking institutions.
“A lot of time when you fill out those applications to become a member, they always ask you what’s your pets name or your best friends name. Over time, all of that information is going to get out, if it doesn’t already. The more those websites change things up, the more information they are getting from you. So it’s very important to hang on to those passwords,” said Crum.
Crum also says it’s necessary for businesses to take every precaution against viruses and malware.
