Local hospital announces $75 million expansion

On Thursday, officials at Trinity Health System in Steubenville announced a $75 million expansion of Trinity West.

Construction will begin next week on the new addition, which will add 183,400 square feet to the West campus.

Officials believe the new addition will allow Trinity to take a big step forward in healthcare and in-patient care.

“What this means for our community is that we’re here to stay. This solidifies us as a strong player here for generations to come. But from a patient care stand point, there will be no increased cost to the patient. There will be no up-charge. There will be no requests. Everyone will get a private room,” said Matt Grimshaw, President & CEO of Trinity Health System.

Grimshaw says construction will take place in three phases.

Phase one will begin next week.
