Making and maintaining your New Year's resolutions

(WTRF) - Now that the new year has started, it's time to start working on those New Year's resolutions!

Even if you haven't made yours yet, there's plenty of time to better yourself throughout 2019.

Whether you're looking to lose weight or spend more time with family, everyone should have a goal they want to accomplish every new year.

One of the most common new years resolutions is to lose weight. That's why gyms are packed full and diets are one of the most common Internet searches starting New Year's Day.

7News spoke with some people of the Ohio Valley on what they want to accomplish this year.

One resident said, "lose weight and be with family."

Mitch said he wants to spend more time with family and lose weight. "Of course everybody wants to lose weight. That's a regular goal for everyone this time of year all the time."

Steve said he's looking forward to retiring in the fall! "Take care of my grandchildren, fix a few things around the house I've been slacking on."

Now maintaining your New Year's resolution can be just as difficult as it is to get started on it. So to make sure you stick with it, set smaller goals until you reach you ultimate goal.
