Memorial fundraiser held for Ashley Flanagan

Community

A memorial was held at the Martins Ferry rec center for Ashley Flanagan, who died in 2012 after routine knee surgery.

A cornhole tournament and pasta dinner raised money in her name to help girls go to college, along with donations from businesses and private donors.

The event gave out 10 scholarships this year, as opposed to five in previous years.

Ashley was the daughter of Bellaire Police Chief Dickie Flanagan.
