Exciting new developments are coming to Brooke County, which officials say will bring many jobs to the area.
The ESC Brooke County Natural Gas Power Plant has received its final permits to provide with the plans.
Around $800 million worth of investments have gone into this project. This plant is one of the first Natural Gas power plants to be permitted in the state of West Virginia.
“To say that the natural gas discovery and the impacts that it’s having on our local economy is just going to be fleeting is grossly wrong,” explained Patrick Ford, Executive Director of the Business Development Corporation of the Northern Panhandle. “We are on the front end of a play that could sustain this Tri-State area for generations.”
Ford said the development community is anxious for the construction to begin.
