As the investigation continues into the Wheeling Island homicide, 7News spoke to neighbors about their thoughts on the incident.
Several neighbors told 7News they didn’t really know the victim.
In fact, they say Rayna Shae Vaughan and her baby girl just moved in.
They’re very sad to hear she died and that her two-year-old was left alone.
But neighbors are honestly not surprised something like this happened here.
One neighbor said he’s looking to move off Wheeling Island because it’s not safe for anyone, especially at night.
Of course, not everyone feels the same.
Long-time Wheeling Island resident Mike Berry said he feels perfectly safe.
“Either end of the Island is bad or good at a given time. But police usually drive by every half hour or so. I feel safe that way. Every time you turn around, you see a cop. Cops are always going around,” berry said.
Wheeling Police announced they believe there is no danger to the community regarding this case.
