One area business doing it’s part to help federal employees who have been effected by the government shutdown.
Quaker Steak & Lube at the Highlands will be offering a free buffet this Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.
It will feature comfort food such as meat loaf, baked chicken and pork, as well as, soups, salads and deserts.
The event is sponsored by Miklas Meat Market and Zavolta Law. Staff at Quaker Steak said all federal employees are welcome.
“We love to be involved in our community,” said Marketing Director Christine Thomas. “We are lucky to work for a company that lets us do so much in the community so, we just thought, why not try to help them out while we are not getting paid?”.
A federal ID will be required for anyone wishing to attend.
