The donation season is on for the 17th annual Brooke and Hancock County Relay for Life.
Hundreds will lace up their walking shoes for a great cause on Saturday, June 2nd at Brooke High School.
But before hitting the track, event leader Eric Fithyan said they’re still looking for business sponsors.
So far, the group has raised $12,000 of their $49,000 goal for cancer research, but they’re looking for others to get involved.
“People should get involved. I know every year my business gets involved because it’s one way to tell the community, the people we serve, and even our staff members that we support those who have fought against cancer and we’re still there for those who lost the battle to cancer, for their families,” Fithyan said.
If you would like to become a sponsor, you can visit their Facebook page for an application.
Also, if you or a loved one are battling cancer, Weirton Medical Center is starting a new, cancer support group.
If you’re interested, a meeting will be held next Tuesday, April 24th from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Support Group will be held in the Purewal Conference rooms at Weirton Medical.
Future meetings will also be held on May 22, June 26, and July 24.
Officials said support group will always held on Tuesdays.
