After a discussion with the Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety, representatives with the West Virginia Penitentiary say the language that could have potentially ended operations at the Penitentiary will be removed from House Bill 4338 and Senate Bill 369.

Both bills are currently in committee, and Delegate Mike Ferro says that that part of the bills will be removed before they go to the House and Senate floors.

The Penitentiary is crediting the work of Delegates Mike Ferro and Joe Canestraro and Senators Mike Maroney and Charles Clements for the change.
