Residents in Ohio could see more money in their pockets next year.
Twenty states around the U.S. are raising their minimum wages around the start of the new year, including Ohio.
The federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour has been the same since 2009.
Since then, 29 states and the District of Columbia have set minimum wages above the federal level.
Residents in the Buckeye State, seeing a 25 cent increase from $8.30 to $8.55.
