Dr. Vicki Riley was honored at the Wheeling County Club for her dedication to West Virginia Northern Community College.
Dr. Riley is retiring after 10 years as WVNCC President on June 30th.
During Tuesday’s event at the Wheeling Country Club it was announced that a scholarship will be formed in her name.
While serving as President of WVNCC, she has increased the number of graduates, expanded technical programs and facilities, and increased partnership with local schools.
“Oh this was just so wonderful the Wheeling Friends Group has presented me with a scholarship in my name for our students as I told them earlier that is just so extra special because it is the students that we are here for and community colleges just touch the lives of so many students. Its just such an honor for them to do that for me,” said Dr. Riley.
Dr. Riley said that WVNCC is on a strong path and she looks forward to seeing what comes next for the college.
