There’s still no sign of 46-year-old Troy DeLong of Shadyside, after a second day of intense searching.
He was last seen Friday.
Days later, his parked truck was discovered along Big Pine Way outside of town.
Deputies fanned out, scouring the woods in a grid pattern.
Searchers said the woods are steep, and there are sudden terraces and drop-offs.
Family members say he was once an avid hunter, he knew the woods and may have taken a walk and encountered trouble.
“We’re thinking that probably if he is out there in those woods somewhere, there was some sort of accident.” said Lyndsey DeLong, Troy’s sister. “Whether he fell, broke a leg, his neck, hit his head, had a heart attack, something, I mean that’s what we all feel would have happened to him.”
His sisters said he liked the outdoors, and nothing had happened that prompted him to disappear.
She said he kept to himself a lot.
He was last seen, by his father, at noon Saturday, and he seemed fine.
