Severe weather on the rise for the end of 2018

There is some wild weather is in the forecast to end 2018.

Weather conditions are going to be severe tonight with more rain and high winds.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of the Ohio Valley.

There are chances for 40 to 50 mile per hour gusts.

Ohio County EMA Director Lou Vargo said he has notified all the first response agencies to be on alert for tonight.

“Just keep an eye on things. Our creeks are okay. We think they are going to be alright throughout this duration of the storm during the day, but again if there is any high water coming in your residency just notify 911 immediately and we’ll get first responders out there and tonight if you hear any trees coming down or anything just give us a call so we can check it out,” said Vargo.

2018 is also a recording breaking year for rainfall in the area.

And the total will continue to rise.

StormTracker7 Meteorologist Emily Goodman said we could still see around an inch of rain tonight.

“So by the time this is all said and done we could be looking at over 57 inches. Which puts us nearly 20 inches of rain over what we should see normally in one year,” said Goodman.

Emily also said there could be some power outages or tree limbs down.

Drivers also need to take extra precautions while driving on the roads tonight.
