The Ron Retzer Trio selected to play at the White House

Community

Recently, the Ohio Valley has made its presence felt inside The White House.

Two weeks ago, Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliot attended an event there. Next up, a local band.

The Ron Retzer Trio has been invited to perform at the White House on December 20th.

Reality has finally set in for the group.

“I think for awhile, none of us believed it,” said the members of the trio: Ron Retzer, Jennifer Galowina and Bob Wolfe. “We’re like ‘yeah this is real and it’s happening’. So, we are really excited. We’re very honored by it.”

The Ron Retzer Trio has been an Ohio Valley treasure for years.

Tonight, they performed at Oglebay’s Festival of Lights Dinner Show.

Ron Retzer himself has been performing at Oglebay for 25 years.

That partnership began thanks to a recommendation of Retzer to Oglebay by none other than Brad Paisley.
