The efforts of students from one local middle school will soon benefit area women who are battling breast cancer.

Student Council members from Triadelphia Middle School presented a check for $300 that will go to the Wheeling Hospital Breast Cancer Center.

Students raised the money during a ” Pink Out”  that was held in October.

The money will be used to meet the needs of patients during their treatments.

“We know that young people  have parents or grandparents that might be involved with breast cancer and we certainly appreciate them thinking of our patients and putting the thought towards helping others,” said Paula Masssey, Supervisor of teh Wheeling Hospital Breast Cancer Center.

“It makes me feel really good that I can help people and that I can possibly save some lives,” added Triadelphia Middle School student Laken Franke.

Proceeds are often used to purchase gas cards or other necessities.
