Two events in Belmont County will help homeless animals

The first is Friday, Dec. 8, at the Ohio Valley Mall, where you can actually adopt a new furry friend on the spot.

The second is Sunday, Dec. 10, where you can enjoy barbecue, bingo and baskets of prizes.

And the proceeds will all be going to the Belmont County Humane Society.

“On Friday, we will have a Kitten Adoption Event in the Community Room at the mall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said Angela Hatfield, director of the Belmont County Humane Society. “We’re also going to have some of our raffle items there from our Bingo that is actually happening on Sunday at St. Mary’s Church in St. Clairsville at Marion Hall. And so we’re having a barbecue and lots of theme baskets to give away.”

They’ll also have many prizes donated by business owners and individuals in the area,.

To recap, the kitten adoption is Friday from 10 to 5.

And the Bingo and Barbecue is Sunday from 4 to 8 at Marion Hall in St. Clairsville.

The Belmont County Humane Society rescues and re-homes kittens and cats, since cats are no longer accepted at the county animal shelter.
