In just over a week, part of downtown Wheeling will transform into Italy for the Undo’s Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival.
Water Street will be lined with plenty of food and fun for the whole family.
“Just come on down,” said Board Member Bob Triveri. “The food’s gonna be good and if you go away disappointed that’s your own fault because there’s everything you want to eat if you like Italian food. You’ll have a really really good time.”
This year’s entertainment is sponsored by Wheeling Hospital and will be on the main stage at Heritage Port.
In addition to various musical acts on the stage, there will also be a veterans appreciation ceremony on Saturday morning, the scholarship awards ceremony on Saturday evening, and a catholic mass on Sunday.
Fireworks will take place on Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
Returning this year are the cornhole and bocce tournaments at WesBanco arena.
“The regular (bocce) tournament starts Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.,” Triveri said. “We have 32 teams. The venue is full and it’s a blast.”
Since the cornhole tournament is so popular, the festival has also added a brand new kids tournament on Friday night.
The 36th annual event begins on Friday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. and continues until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
