Emergency responders are still working to remove a tractor-trailer truck that crashed near Mile 8 on I-70.
Both Westbound lanes are currently closed.
Wheeling police is on the scene and urges motorists to proceed with caution when traveling in the area.
Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard confirmed neither the driver nor his passenger was injured in the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office is ruling the cause of the accident as human error.
The driver will be cited with failure to maintain control.
According to Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard, Interstate 70 westbound is closed right now near mile marker 8.
This is due to semi-truck on it’s side. Sheriff Howard says the truck is leaking diesel fuel at this time.
Traffic is already starting to back up on the two-mile hill area.
