Now that Thanksgiving is over, you may be wondering what to do with your leftover turkey.
One chef from the Coalfields area has a few ideas up his sleeve.
Chef Andy McGhee with A&J Catering said he likes to separate the meat from the breast and the thigh and then he slices it.
From there he likes to make turkey sliders, turkey grilled cheese and panini sandwiches. He says there’s a variety of dishes you can make using leftover turkey.
Chef McGhee asked whatever you do, do not let it go to waste.
“Turkey sometimes can be very expensive, so utilize it in every single way,” he urged. “Even if you have neighbors that didn’t get to have the proper Thanksgiving, that could be a very good way of reaching out to them and being a blessing to them also.”
He also explained if you’re going to discard your turkey, he recommended not putting it in your indoor trash can.
It can start to smell and bones can puncture holes through the trash bags, creating quite the mess.
