Wheeling City Council set to discuss city manager position

Wheeling City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday night.

They are set to discuss the city manager position and possibly adding in an assistant city manager position, something that’s been vacant for nearly 10 years.

The announcement was made during their regular meeting Tuesday evening.

Right now, current city manager Robert Herron is under unpaid suspension following a DUI arrests a few weekends ago.

Right now, Wheeling Fire Chief Larry Helms is serving as the interim city manager.
